The Wellness and Brain Fitness Fair is an educational, experiential and social event featuring experts and resources in all aspects of wellness, including physical, mental, environmental, social, economic, educational, and spiritual. The fair will include an extensive array of exhibits and demonstrations supporting wellness and aging successfully. Participants will be given their “Passport To Wellness” to take to the screenings during the event. There will be 15+ free wellness screenings available. The more screenings completed, the more chances the participant will receive to win a raffle prize. The annual event has expanded this year and will also offer a variety of free entertainment throughout the day.
Free screenings that will be offered include: Balance, Blood Pressure, Memory, Grip Strength, Hearing and many more! After each screening the participant will receive feedback on their Passport To Wellness to share with their healthcare professionals.
“The Wellness and Brain Fitness Fair is the perfect opportunity for adults of all ages to assess current brain fitness and learn ways to support and enhance their cognitive health,” says Dr. William Gingold. Taking a “passport to wellness” approach, attendees will be able to explore different areas of cognitive functionality and participate in a variety of brain fitness and other complimentary screenings and assessments.
Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs’ staff will be in Urbana September 19th to help reunite citizens with unclaimed property through the I-Cash program.
In Champaign County, an estimated 100,000 people have unclaimed cash or property being safeguarded by the Treasurer’s Office. The value exceeds $16.7 million. Statewide, the Treasurer secures more than $2 billion in unclaimed cash and property.
“Jewelry, coins, and family mementos tucked away in a safe deposit box are common examples of items that we hold for safe keeping as we try to locate the proper owners,” Frerichs said. “These items do not belong to the state and should be returned to their rightful owners.” The Treasurer’s Office never charges money for its assistance to reclaim cash or property. Wellness and Brain Fitness Fair participants will be able to visit the booth and check if they are due any unclaimed property.
