Mat Class with Master Instructor Cynthia Lochard

The Pilates Center is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of Cynthia Lochard for a four-day visit, June 1 - 4. Cynthia will teach a Master Class to Pilates Center clients on Thursday, June 2nd that will be a fundraiser for the Champaign County Humane Society. This class is open to the public for observation with a suggested donation to the Humane Society. Cynthia will also test two of the PC apprentices Diane Musemeci (Associate Dean of LAS at the University of Illinois) and Jen Drummond of St. Louis and conduct a Continuing Professional Education seminar for over 25 certified Pilates instructors who are coming from California, Florida and as far away as Spain. Cynthia Lochard danced with some of the worlds greatest dance legends including George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Twyla Tharp. She was also a cast member of the 1980 hit film ''Fame.'' During her time as a dancer Cynthia became a devotée of Joseph Pilates' original protégé, Romana Kryzanowska. Under Romana, Cynthia became one of the top Pilates Instructors in the world, and one of only four Level 1 teachers. Friday, Juanita Lopez of Chicago, the second of four living Pilates Grand Masters, will join Cynthia and Janice Dulak, Master Instructor and owner of The Pilates Center, in a day of teaching lessons to Pilates teachers.
