Description
This seminar will cover the basics of water gardening and an introduction to ponds, pondless waterfalls, small water features and rainwater harvesting. "So You're Thinking About a Pond" will answer all your questions about the different types of water features, the different components for each feature, and the roles of aquatic life and the ecosystem. This seminar will also cover "20 Pond Myths - Debunked!". With the growth of the water gardening industry, there are many misconceptions and “old-wives tales”. The new version of water gardening in the 21st century is exciting, enjoyable, low-maintenance and a naturalistic joy!
Common myths we will discuss include:
• Predators will eat all of your fish!
• A pond means lots of mosquitoes.
• Rocks and gravel make it difficult to clean.
• Koi can’t be kept in a pond with plants.
• You have to bring your fish inside for the winter.
• You must test your water daily.
• It’s okay to use chemicals in the pond.
• The more filtration, the better the pond.
• And much more!
Explore the idea of adding a little piece of paradise to your life with a pond, waterfall or small water feature.
