Description
Flaw: Embracing Chance in a World Seeking Perfection curated by Peg Shaw Monday, November 18, 2024 – Saturday, February 8, 2025 Reception: Thursday, November 21, 5:30 - 7:30 pm Gallery Talk at 6:15 pm by Peg Shaw Professor of Art & Design Peg Shaw curates a compelling exhibition featuring six contemporary artists who explore innovative approaches and materials to address issues beyond representation. These artists embrace conceptual and process-oriented artwork, redefining photographic media through unique techniques, mixed media, and direct touch. In an environment dominated by new technologies, their work takes risks, embraces flaws, and invites viewer engagement while employing new approaches to express their ideas. Artists included are Mark Armbruster, Susan Calza, Michael Mapes, Holly Roberts, Constance Edwards Scopelitis, and Helen Sear.
