Description
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) went into effect on January 1 of this year, and with that, comes the requirement that many companies must submit a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. There’s a good chance that the requirement extends to your business, too.
Don't wait until the end of the year and find yourself scrambling to comply before the initial deadline. Get the information you need now. Join us to learn how your business can file the necessary reports to comply with the law. A failure to comply can lead to larges fines and possibly imprisonment.
The Champaign County Chamber welcomes Meyer Capel attorney and shareholder Randall Green to share what businesses need to know on the Corporate Transparency Act. Green will also share where businesses can go to file their necessary reports and what information is needed.
In this webinar, Green will cover the following:
- Overview of the CTA
- Most common exemptions
- Reporting obligations and important deadlines
- Technical rules of determining Beneficial Ownership
- Examples of common entity structures
- Recent developments, including federal court opinions and additional FinCEN guidance issued within the last week
- Q & A Period
