2021 Krannert Debut Artist to Premiere New Professional Album

Description

Krannert Debut Artist Andrew J. Buckley to premiere first professional album of newly composed works. The album, entitled “Where We Go Next” is comprised of all new works by young composers from the Champaign IL, and Cleveland OH areas. The program will include 5 Short Pieces for Clarinet & Piano by Daixuan Ai, Alice for Bb Clarinet & Piano by Genevieve Cecile, and Delos for Bb Clarinet & Piano by Tyler Kowal. The program will conclude with Christian Quiñones’ Five Half-Remembered Songs performed by The Goodwin Avenue Trio. In-person seating will be available for UIUC students, faculty, and staff in addition to community members and visitors who can provide proof of full vaccination status. In keeping with his mission, Buckley hopes that this concert will promote the music and artistic values of his generation, while also serving to push forward the boundaries of the repertoire for the clarinet.
