DESCRIPTION:Join Carle and Safe Kids Champaign County for a day of safety education for parents and children with games\, entertainment\, child identification kits\, prizes\, inflatables and food – Saturday\, June 9 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Champaign County Fairgrounds. Admission and all activities are free.\n\nWith more than 40 safety exhibits from local law enforcement and safety experts\, children can participate in a number of activities. New this year\, Live Line Demo and Ameren will give an attention-grabbing presentation on electrical safety showing children what to do – and not to do – when around potentially harmful electricity. Among the other new activities this year\, Champaign Police will present on anti-bullying\, and Students Against Distracted Driving will teach of the dangers of driving while distracted.\n\nOther interactive exhibits include a fire safety house\, and tours of fire trucks\, ambulances\, police vehicles and the AirLife medical helicopter. Safe Kids Champaign County will also provide car seat safety checks for parents\, completed by certified technicians.\n\nBetween 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.\, the first 1\,500 guests will receive a free hot dog courtesy of Sonic Drive-In.
