SUMMARY:Non-Profit Financial Improvement
DESCRIPTION:Matthew Thomas is a Senior Consultant with Design Group International helping organizations and their leaders transform for a vibrant future. In this seminar\, he will discuss how to achieve and maintain nonprofit financial health while increasing mission reach and effectiveness. \n\n\n\nNonprofits have three major economic advantages over other ways of doing business: donated labor\, donated revenues\, and the freedom to measure success by something other than the financial profits passed along to owners or shareholders. Nevertheless\, nonprofits face unique challenges to their success often not seen in other types of organizations. Whether those challenges are uncertain funding streams - for instance\, based in appropriations from a state budget - or the particular relationship between a nonprofit's board and its staff\, there are ways nonprofits can design their organization and their mission strategy to meet those challenges and maximize the advantages available to nonprofits. \n\n\n\nThe topics that will be covered will include: \n\n Strategic Fundraising (percentages / costs / return\; strategic planning) \n\n Clarifying your nonprofit business model \n\n Revenue-based (multi-year) budgeting \n\n Narrative spending plans to connect costs to mission \n\n Clarifying board and staff roles \n\n Determining a healthy cash reserve and equity position \n\n\n\n\n\nThe cost to attend this seminar is $19. To register\, please email Caryn Isenhower or call 217.359.1791. Registration deadline is March 15\, 2016.
