Starting a Small Business Workshop, presented by Larry Wood
This workshop is the first in a series that covers must-have topics with real-life examples and cases. First-time entrepreneurs and those growing their small businesses all benefit from the straight talk and friendly mentoring from our experienced, business professionals. Business Advisor Council (BAC) workshops and resources help minimize risk by sharing the vital, need-to-know truths of running a business.

About the presenter:
Larry is currently retired after a 34 year career with The Andersons, Inc., a large regional grain, fertilizer and rail company. The first 6 years were spent in operations, 5 in accounting, 10 in systems development and financial modeling and the last 13 in general management with specific accountability for all commodity trading and sales and marketing development at the local Champaign Facility.
During his work tenure in Champaign, he served 3 years on the Chamber Board, 4 years on the EDC board, 4 years on the WILL Community Advisory Board, 3 years on the steering committee for the US`150 business corridor development project between Champaign and Mahomet. He has also served on numerous United Way review committees.
Since retirement in 2008, he has been serving on 3 boards, teaches part time at Parkland, provides volunteer business counseling with SCORE and works diligently with Score workshops.
Larry attended the U of I and barely escaped by the skin of his teeth.
